The country of my company is blocked on Mexico, when it's a US company

Hey there,

So I am in the wonderful world of the partner center.
I am trying to apply to the Commercial Marketplace program. They ask for my Company Information when doing the AI Cloud partner enrollment. But the company country is blocked on Mexico, and can’t be changed.

I understand that I have to create a whole new account? How can I do that? I believe my Microsoft 365 email is linked to this account - so I would have to restart everything from 0?
Or is there any way that I can eliminate this possibility?

+: it doesn’t recognise my DUNS number.

The process is driving me crazy, if anyone has any tips, I am gladly taking them.

Thanks in advance!
Abrazos

Hi Arthur,

When you click on the “Why can’t I change this?” link, you should see information that will help us troubleshoot the issue. Could you please share those details with us?

Thank you!

Hey Johan,

Thanks for your reply.

Click on “create a new account”, get this:

Click on “Please contact your administrator to request access” → conect to my admin portal, and don’t get it because this user is the global admin user. Go to many articles - nothing works - I surrender this option.

The second option is to create a new Microsoft Entra tenant. After struggling, I end up there:

Does that mean that I have to buy a new domain and restart everything? Or could I just delete the main tenant and create a new one with the domain I initally bought (pouletbraise).

Thanks for your help!
Arthur

Hello Arthur - two options:

  1. Either you re-create an email with an M365 work account with the correct country. As in your billing must be US located and same with your adress. With that new one you’ll be able to pick it up the right format.

To put it simply: “… you can not change the country location that you signed up in for billing and legal reasons. For the second Microsoft says you need to create a new tenant.”

OR

  1. You carry on with current account. Once in Partner Center

Once you’re in - you can navigate to Legal info create a business location in the US. You can then edit the primary location with the properties of the business location.

Loom recorded: here

In the video you see me - finding where to create a business location (i did not create one) then move to edit the properties of main business location from the newly created business location. Sounds complex when you read it - but makes way more sense with the video

I’d rather go one - so you don’t have to tweak things from the beginning.

Hey Johan,

Thanks for helping.

When initiating the process of creating a business location and opening the Legal Info tab on the partner center, it goes blank:

Is it because I didn’t correctly link my company to my partner center?
I connected with my work email I created, and even my personal emails but nothing appears still.

I checked on the foundershub portal, and it looks like I have to verify my domain. But it doesn’t recognise it.

  • is it mandatory to create a website?

I go on “my preferences” on my partner center to try to update my info, but it loads infinitely.

Thanks

Hi Arthur,

Could you please confirm which option you chose—Road 1 or Road 2?

On the Partner Center issue, I’d recommend a hard refresh: log out, then log back in. I know it sounds basic, but it often resolves things like this.

As for the URL, I believe they’re requesting one. You could try using: “https://www.pouletbraise.net/” for now. If you don’t have a website yet, they might ask for proof of purchase or something similar.

Let me know how it goes!

Hey Johan,

I chose the Road 2: carrying on with my current account.

I tried to relog but still didn’t work.

Thanks for the URL, it worked and it’s in verification process.

EDIT:

Will upload the required document and let you know.

I’ll continue dinging but I think it’s gonna be hard to finish the process in December…

Thanks for your patience!!!
