I have a question around orders via a CSP offer and renewals.
If an order placed through a CSP offer renews when the CSP offer is not active any more - will the price be without margin?
And to go even more specific - what if a new CSP offer has been created for the same partner tenant and same products & margin - will the price on the renewal include the margin?
At the moment, we tend to do 1-year CSP offers and 1-year minimum customer deals, which means that in effect, the customer service renewal is never going to happen while the same CSP offer is active. Would it be better to create longer CSP offers?
On point 1 - Here’s what’s happening, a renewal is treated as a new purchase on a marketplace perspective. In that regard the private offer condition to CSP won’t apply anymore upon renewal. For sanity check - since we have not yet faced this situation - I’m checking with Microsoft Product Group to bullet proof the answer.
On point 2 - it depends really - are you planning to keep the margin YoY for a CSP. If yes that makes sense on an operational front. If not - as in the margin is subject to change, I’d keep as usual or emit multiple private offer to CSPs. Happy to deep dive as needed !
