Microsoft events to accelerate Microsoft Co-sell

Hello WeTransact Community,

A powerful way to accelerate your Microsoft co-sell strategy is by participating in top Microsoft events but only with the right equation.

:white_check_mark: Triple-check the audience to ensure it aligns with your ICP and includes key Microsoft stakeholders you want to engage.

Key Microsoft Events:

  • Microsoft AI Tour & Microsoft Ignite – The best places to connect with Microsoft’s top executives and their customers.
  • Microsoft Yearly Offsite (July) – Microsoft’s sales teams gather to celebrate results and outline new fiscal-year sales plays. Some partners co-sponsor afterwork events, creating premium networking opportunities.

For example, at WeTransact we co-financed these strategic investments with our reseller channel and complementary SaaS partners.

Hey all :slightly_smiling_face:

I had a chat with Ron, responsible for Global Sponsorships and Featured partners at Microsoft Events, about how you can participate in their major events, and I’m sharing the key points so you can navigate this process.

:small_blue_diamond: Which Events Matter?

Ron’s team primarily manages three big events:

:white_check_mark: Microsoft Ignite – Best fit for ISVs looking to showcase their solutions. Sales open in June, and participation requires being an active Microsoft partner. If you’re interested, we can introduce you to the right team! Alternatively, you can reach out directly to sponsor@microsoft.com.

:white_check_mark: Microsoft Build – A developer-focused event with limited sponsorships. Only partners on a pre-approved list can participate, vetted by Microsoft’s GPS team. The key requirement? You must have technical staff at your booth - not just sales & marketing.

:white_check_mark: AI Tour – This year’s 12-city tour is already sold out, but the 2025/2026 edition will open this summer. If you want to target specific regions like EMEA and APAC, we have specific point of contacts. Talk to us and we’ll target the right introductions.

:small_blue_diamond: Tips to be approved?

Microsoft’s sales team validates partners before approval, and they’re looking for :

:pushpin: A strong “Better Together” story – How does your company leverage Microsoft services?

:pushpin: An active presence in the Microsoft ecosystem – They check if you’re listed in Azure Marketplace.

:pushpin: Clear event objectives – What do you hope to achieve on-site?

For Microsoft Build, if you aren’t on the pre-approved list but want to be considered, you need to email sponsor@microsoft.com (cc us if needed) and explain why you want to engage your developers.

Microsoft isn’t actively selling sponsorships beyond Build right now. But come June, Ignite will be open for participation, and that’s when we can help connect interested ISVs!

For any other events besides these 3 main ones, each contact is very specific and we usually have to hunt the point of contact through the anding page of the event or any other assets. Share the event with us and we’ll try to help and connect you with the right person.

:bulb: If you’re interested, send me or @Alexandre a message! We’ll happily introduce you to Ron and the team and help you through the process. :rocket:
